You would think cooking all of Thanksgiving Dinner on a wood cookstove would take tremendous effort and patience but the opposite is true! A wood cook stove adds great versatility and finesse to cooking! With it's great and abundant stove top surface area you can have pots aplenty frying, boiling, bubbling, and simmering. It would not be unusual to have 6+ pots all cooking at the same time and with the varying surface temperatures having high, medium, and low heat all at once is not a problem. The distance of the the pots from the firebox makes the difference. One fire, much cooking! That same fire is also at the same time heating the oven which is full of pies, rolls, or hams and turkey.
